7 yoga poses to improve blood circulation

Deep breathing and exercise are the best ways to improve blood circulation. Proper blood circulation ensures you keep away from cardiovascular diseases, strokes and blood clots. Poor blood circulation also affects concentration and absorption of nutrients in the body. For optimum functioning of the body, yoga expert Mahua Deb,trainer, Defence Welfare Association and at Vishakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) suggests these yoga poses:
Tadasana: The mountain pose improves your lung capacity and strengthens your lungs. It is beneficial during early stages of pregnancy too. The breathing technique helps improve blood circulation.
Trikonasana: The triangle pose not only improves circulation but also helps prevent osteoporosis and relieves constipation. This pose can be practised even during pregnancy for proper blood circulation.
Ekpada rajkapotasana: The pigeon pose eases urinary disorders and diminishes stiffness and lower back pain. It accelerates the blood flow and thus stimulates internal organs too.
Sarvangasana: Also known as a member’s pose regulates the funcitioning of your entire body and the working of the respiratory system. It nourishes the spine with good supply of oxygen and blood and prevents nervous system disorders.
Ustrasana: Is an excellent pose for senior citizens too. It helps in circulation of oxygen, increases blood flow to the uterus and is helpful against respiratory ailments.
Shashankasana: The hare poses stretches your upper body, relaxes it and gives relief from anxiety. It calms you down and thus improves the blood flow in the body.
Moordhanasana: The crown based pose provides relief from hormonal imbalances, boosts immunity and prevents ageing. By improving the blood flow, it keeps you looking young and maintains the glow on your skin.
